What Happens Next

There are changes in the wind and I am hoping this wind blows fast and hard to bring those changes about soon. Missteps are just stepping stones to success...used to tell that to the kids I taught. Now I repeat it to myself. There are so many opportunities out there, I hope I can hang on long enough to be in the right place at the right time.

In the mean time I am doing lots of clay work, and meeting some really great folks - and some very supportive friends who assure me it was not my fault. So here's to those stepping stones.

Buttons, Buttons, Buttons

McIntosh Buttons

I seem to be developing a fetish for buttons. I have been making "beads" and looking at them, thinking, "This would make a nice button." I think my focus is being drawn by the predominance of fabric art in Southwestern New Mexico. It is on my mind to start knitting and pairing my buttons with something wearable. In the meantime I am finding lots of inspiration from these beautiful buttons from PatsParaphernalia Flickr site.

Reminiscent of Mimbres Art Forms

After a week in Phoenix, I am thinking about getting back to Silver City, NM and this piece caught my eye with it's very interesting design. I had to take a closer look and it is like looking down the Rabbit's Hole. There is so much going in. You can keep looking and finding more quirky little images. The colors sooth the eye as it scans the pendant looking for what comes next. This is definitely a conversation piece and a really wonderfully creative way to do something different with Polymer Clay. Good Work Magic Toscana.
